TheWelsh1000walk Leaders Terms & Conditions

  1. All Leaders must complete and submit the registration form online via theWelsh1000walk website. TheWelsh1000walk team will reply via email to confirm if you have been accepted to lead the walk you have nominated. In the event the walk you nominated is unavailable, we will contact you to offer an alternative route, if this is applicable.
  2. Leaders must be over 18 years of age.
  3. Any Participant under the age of 16 years must have an accompanying adult with them or written permission from their guardian/s.
  4. As a Leader, we are not asking you for a registration donation or to raise any funds. Raising funds is entirely your decision if you feel you would like to.
  5. Any Leader who finds themselves unable to take part in the event after being confirmed as Leader should notify theWelsh1000walk team via email as soon as possible.
  6. Leaders are responsible for their own medical condition, ensuring they are fit to complete the walk within the allocated time and during daylight hours. Please consult your doctor if you are in any doubt about your medical suitability.
  7. Leaders are responsible for their own transport arrangements to the start and from the finish points.  theWelsh1000walk is unable to arrange transport.
  8. Leaders should be aware that photographs taken during the walk may be used to publicise the event and the work of theWelsh1000walk.
  9. By submitting the Leader Registration Form online you are confirming your acceptance of theWelsh1000walk Terms & Conditions. You agree to follow the reasonable directions of theWelsh1000walk volunteer organisers.
  10. TheWelsh1000walk reserves the right to cancel this event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, without any liability to any Leaders or Participants.
  11. All Leaders walk at their own risk. In no event shall theWelsh1000walk be liable for any injuries, loss or damages whatsoever, including indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential losses connected with any aspect of this walk.
  12. All Leaders must bring sufficient water and food suitable for the duration of the walk. TheWelsh1000walk will not be providing any food or drink.
  13. All Leaders must wear suitable clothing/waterproofs/footwear for the walk. We would consider flip flops to be unsuitable footwear!
  14. Latecomers – people who arrive after the start time accept and agree that they cannot officially take part in theWelsh1000 walk.
  15. You understand that the personal data you provide will be maintained on a computer system expressly for the efficient administration of theWelsh1000walk. The data will not be used for any other purpose nor will it be sold or otherwise released to third parties.
  16. If you supply an email address, we shall ONLY use your email address to communicate with you about the walk, e.g. to send confirmation of registration. We will NOT pass the information to any third party.
  17. As Leader, you agree to walk your chosen route on a Saturday (the same day of the week on which the walk event will take place) prior to the event, and will brief the participants on the morning of the event on any particular issues you might have identified on your recce. TheWelsh1000walk volunteer organisers shall not be responsible if you fail to carry out the recce and in the prescribed manner.
  18. You must be trained to a minimum basic first aid level. This should be validated within the last 3 years. You agree to provide written proof of this to theWelsh1000walk via email.
  19. All Leaders agree to carry a detailed map of the route they are leading, a compass, fully functioning torch, basic first aid kit, water, food and fully charged mobile phone containing emergency contact details. You agree that we may request other equipment be carried and may inform you of this at a later date.
